Perform all functions of the warehouse operation providing materials to maintain the buildings on the NIH campus. Duties include the following. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Provide excellent customer service: The purpose of the warehouse is to serve the NIH employees who maintain the buildings on campus. The material expediter will develop and maintain good relationships with the warehouse customers so that we effectively support their maintenance efforts. Enthusiasm for providing excellent, friendly customer service is essential
COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Use the WASP warehouse inventory and tracking system to purchase materials, receive materials, disburse materials to NIH employees, and track materials in the warehouse,
• Use the MSC Industrial web site to assist customers: The warehouse material expediter will learn and effectively use the MSC Industrial web site to help customers identify the material they need and order it. This will require familiarity with the full range of materials stocked by MSC.
KNOWLEDGE OF BUILDING MATERIALS:
Have a general knowledge of building and maintenance materials: Our customers will request materials using part names common within the electrical, plumbing, and other building trades. Each employee must be familiar enough with the building trades to be able to understand what item an NIH tradesman is describing.
WAREHOUSING:
Receive, stock, and organize all the material in the warehouse, including lifting material up to 75 pounds
• Maintain a neat, clean, well-organized facility that complies with all safety and fire regulations
• Occasional off-site inventory: The warehouse material expediter will occasionally travel overnight, at Legatus6’s expense, to inventory material at out-of-town locations. While participation in each specific trip is voluntary, each expediter is expected to participate in up to 4 trips each year if needed.
• Meet contract performance targets: The warehouse contract with NIH has targets for inventory turns and response times that we must exceed. The expediter will work proactively to exceed all of the targets in the contract.
The facility is open on weekdays from 7:00 to 4:30 with occasional extended hours to 6:30 pm. Each employee will work 8 hours per day and will need the flexibility to schedule his start time so that the warehouse team covers all hours of operation.
The position is full time: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. The warehouse will be open from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm with occasional extensions to 6:30 pm. Start times for each employee may vary to accommodate these hours with each employee working 8 hours per day. Employees may occasionally be asked to travel to a remote site for 2 to 3 days to inventory materials at other locations. All expenses will be paid.
$45,822 salary plus benefits medical benefits valued at $6,936.
